Welcome!

We are excited to announce Apollo Elementary's new principal, Dr. Natalie Pope! Learn more about Dr. Pope below.

Welcome! I am Dr. Pope, the new principal of Apollo Elementary School, and I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible community.  With over 13 years of experience in education, I am dedicated to fostering academic excellence and supporting the growth of our students.

I began my career as an elementary school teacher, spending seven years creating engaging and dynamic learning environments for young learners.  Following that, I served as the instructional coach at both Kerr Elementary School and Rusheon Middle Schools where I had the privilege of mentoring teachers and enhancing our instructional practices.  Most recently, I served as an Assistant Principal at Rusheon Middle School.  This role allowed me to develop and implement policies that improved school performance and student outcomes.

Before entering the field of education, I served several as a juvenile probation and parole officer for the State of Louisiana.  This experience gave me a unique perspective on the challenges faced by youth and strengthened my dedication to supporting EVERY student’s success.

In 2022, I earned a Doctor of Education Degree from Louisiana Tech University, furthering my commitment to academic leadership and professional growth.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband for 21 years.  We have two wonderful sons, Tyler, 17, and Garrett, 15. My family values and dedication to community service inspire my work every day.

I am excited to embark on this journey with you all and look forward to a fantastic year at Apollo Elementary School.
